Wellbeing during exams - Brief Entry

As much as it is important to work hard towards the goals that you have set for yourself, it is also important to take care of yourself while doing it. As much as it is important to work hard towards the goals that you have set for yourself, it is also important to take care of yourself while doing it. Maintaining well-being is a struggle for students due to academic pressure from external agents and fear of failure.

Quality is better than quantity, it is better to revise efficiently to reduce the chance of burn out.

There are many ways to study efficiently while also staying healthy:

  1. Work-life balance is important to maintain a well-balanced mental health. Doing activities you enjoy between revision study sessions and breaks helps with it. Examples of methods that would help with maintaining your well-being could be taking a walk, knitting, playing an instrument, etc.

  2. As much as it may seem necessary to revise for large amounts of time each day, it can be beneficial to take one day off a week, maybe for example, and do the things you like, other than those mentioned in point 1.

  3. Revising for 2 hours and then giving yourself a 10-minute break before the next session is insufficient to rest. The mind cannot cope with that much information, and the next revision session will be a waste of time for you. It is better to spend around an hour doing deep revision and taking a 20-minute break.

  4. Revision apps are terrific while studying. They limit social media use and allow you to revise more efficiently. Apps I would recommend is Study Bunny, which provides a warning to take a break when studying for excessive hour and Flora, helps to stay off your phone, clear to-do lists, and build positive, life-changing habits.
