Essay Competition: Sleep Deprivation Deadline
Journey 2 Healthcare is glad to announce an essay competition to boost your application this month!!
With interviews coming up, and many anticipating offers, Journey 2 Healthcare wants to support you in every way possible through providing you with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how poor wellbeing of staff might impact their ability to provide healthcare.
We see numerous headlines describing the current state of the National Health Service, seemingly blaming the exhausted and overworked staff members. This can lead to sleepless nights as a result of packed night shifts, but have you considered how the lack of sleep hygiene impacts Doctors, Nurses and Allied healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary team, who are determined to provide good patient outcomes despite their own welfare being at risk?
The question that we would like you to explore for this competition is…
How does sleep deprivation in clinical settings impact the quality of health services? (500 words)
The deadline is Friday 28th February 2025.
We can’t wait to see your ideas on this intriguing topic, remember we have certificates available for first, second & third place!
Alcohol Consumption and Public Health: Webinar
Journey to Healthcare is hosting our FIRST webinar this year focusing on an engaging topic delivered by 2 of our outreach volunteers.
As we approach the end of January, many around the country have been changing their lifestyles in order to embody the concept of ‘New Year, New Me.’ This often includes a shift in alcohol consumption, therefore we wanted to take a look at how these changes might affect the type of patients that walk through hospital doors, to be treated by healthcare professionals.
Our webinar is on the following prompt….
How do changes in alcohol consumption affect public health, especially during the New Year and how does this impact the quality of health services.
This will take place on Google Meet, and you will receive a link to join the meeting promptly after signing up! This is a great topic for anyone interested or involved in healthcare as it is relevant to the social and physical wellbeing of the general public.
