For the 2024/2025 entry into Cardiff University's BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) program, the following requirements apply:
A-Level Requirements: AAA, including Biology and Chemistry. The practical component of the science subjects must be passed.
GCSE Requirements: English language (or Welsh language) at grade B/6, and six other GCSEs, including AA/77 in Double Award Science or in separate Biology and Chemistry subjects.
UCAT: Applicants must sit the UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) before applying.
International Baccalaureate: 36 overall with 666 at Higher Level, including grade 6 in Biology and Chemistry.
English Language Proficiency: IELTS with at least 7.0 overall, including a minimum of 7.0 in speaking and 6.5 in other subskills, or equivalent qualifications like TOEFL or PTE.
Interview Process: All applicants must attend a multiple mini interview (MMI), which assesses various skills and attributes relevant to a career in dentistry.
Additional health checks, including screening for blood-borne viruses, are required before starting the course.
